40k could have potential imo, if they do it right. And Warhammer online wasn't so bad, it got ruined mostly because 90% of it's players were heretics xD aka playing destruction.

Re: Eternal Crusade announced - a 40K MMO
WAR chiefly failed because of lackluster endgame content, Mythic being downsized all the time and EA not wanting to show too much support for it in the long run. Which is a shame really, as while it was not a WOW killer, it did so many things right for a change.
But we'll see how this one pans out, 40k does have great potential as MMO material, let's just hope that the devs don't set their sights too high and try to market it as the next WOW killer.
Re: Eternal Crusade announced - a 40K MMO
Large part of WAR endgame revolved around pvp and city sieges, which isn't fun if you're always outnumbered 5 to 1. Then again, I never even made it to the level cap because of just that, so maybe I'm biased.
I'll be keeping an eye on this one, but after WoW, Conan, War and Aion I have to admit I'm kinda tired of mmo's in general.

Re: Eternal Crusade announced - a 40K MMO
I personally wonder if MMO's are the way to go with the franchise. It might be better served to stay in the RTS sector or just give us another Space Marine game, as the first one was superb (Not to mention it ending on a bloody cliffhanger!). Or dare I say, another shooter that does not horribly suck like that one I won't name. But if going down the shooter road, please don't go the Modern Warfare route, I've come to despise all it stands for.
Then again, so many untapped genres out there, I'd love to see a Dark Heresy / Inquisitor game a-la Mass Effect, only not done by those hacks at Bioware. Or a Rogue Trader themed game based on the 4X concept. Battlefleet Gothic done in Homeworld style! Or a X-Com styled Necromunda / Mordheim game. Limitless potential there.
But alas..

Or a Just Cause type game with an open world filled with multiple factions where you play as an inquisitor investigating a sinister plot... Also, I can see a CoD style game working if it puts the player in the role of guardsman or Stormtrooper

Let's face it guys, any Warhammer 40,000 computer game will ALWAYS have to feature space marines, they're just the poster boys for the whole franchise.
Having said that, I'd like to see an X-COM style game based on a Deathwatch kill team
And a game with an Inquisitor can still feature the Deathwatch or other space marines as the Inquisition's shock troops.

Wont see this being a great game.. its like people said its allways end content thats massively lacking.. in the end there are only a few games that keep the end content, in which you play 90% of the game, remains interresting.
also with all the E3 violence i am looking forward to destiny and new Finalfantasy new metal gear omgwtfducksauce..

@Vox you can always hope Personally I think the other factions could be very interesting for a game. But I'd be happy with Space Marine 2 as well!
