Background Sons of Gorgoroth
After the defeat of Warmaster Horus at the hands of the Emperor the Traitor Legions were forced to flee. While most fled towards the Eye of Terror some instead fled towards the Maelstrom, hoping to escape the Imperium's wrath in the Warp storms ravaging the region. This fleet included members from several Legions such as the Emperors Children, World Eaters, Word Bearers, Iron Warriors and the Death Guard.

On the edges of the Maelstrom the Renegade fleet was ambushed by a combined force of the Raven Guard and Iron Hands Legions. Crippled by the assault batteries of the Loyalist war fleet part of the fleet was forced to make planet fall on a the nearby planet. Luck was on their side as the planet turned out to be a forge world all but abandoned by the Imperium, only containing a minimal population to keep the machines going. Embittered at being left behind by the Imperium Fabricator General Vizandt had become Heretek Zhaunil claiming the planet in the name of Chaos. At the arrival of the Chaos fleet he quickly made them an offer of alliance. The commanders of the Renegade fleet gladly accepted his offer and together they began fighting off the Imperial Forces besieging them.

Although they could keep their own on the ground, in space the Heretics were outnumbered almost five to one. The numbers quickly began to take their toll and soon the Heretics were driven back, devastated by orbital bombardments. The Heretek had one last card to play however. Legends told of an old Daemonic presence worshipped by the original population of this planet. Although the Emperor himself had locked this being away in the core of the planet during the Great Crusade, the Heretek was convinced it could be freed.
The desperate commanders agreed to the Heretek's plan and they themselves would accompany him to the core of the planet: Devarim Rendan of the Emperors Children, Bruticus of the World Eaters, dark apostle Oztalun of the Word Bearers and Alastrim of the Death Guard. Together these men travelled to the centre of the planet and their destinies.

They travelled through the network of caves beneath the planet until they came upon a set of jet-black doors. "Beyond these doors lies the Cosmic Horror from beyond the aeons." was carved in luminescent script upon the doors. Opening the doors they found themselves within an artificial square room with golden machinery upon it's black walls. A pedestal rose from the center of the room, upon this pedestal there was a black box with golden filigree matching the machinery on the walls. " Open the box and release me" a booming voice thundered from within the walls. The heretek rushed forward and with frustration tried to open the box, only to find that it's surface was smooth and unmovable. " Only true desire for power will set me free " the voice boomed again.
All tried to open the box but failed. Bruticus' only desire was to shed blood, not rule, Alastrim and Oztalun only wanted to serve their gods and the heretek sought knowledge and not power. However when Devarim touched the puzzle box, lines appeared on its surface and he was able to move the individual pieces. Bit by bit the individual parts slit into place until the eight pointed star of Chaos was assembled. " Place the symbol on the altar and pledge yourself to Gorgoroth, for I am your salvation." the disembodied voice spoke.
" Become my chosen champion and rule in my name. My power is yours if you are mine." Devarim placed the symbol on the altar and simply nodded. " I accept your terms, now show us your might."

The machinery around them ground to a halt and cracks started appearing in the walls as pure Warp tentacles breached through them. The warp storms of the Maelstrom suddenly expanded and engulfed the solar system, drowning the Loyalist vessels in pure Warp energy. Daemons materialized on the surface and started attacking the Loyalists. Long dead machinery sprung to life all around the Loyalists, possessed with a new baleful energy, it's only purpose to destroy those not pledged to Chaos. Within hours the battle had turned into a massacre both on the surface and in space. The Loyalists were forced to retreat, leaving their wounded and dead behind.

With a great rumbling the room around the Traitors began surfacing, merging with the structures above until a great altar to Chaos had been constructed. Dark light sprang from the altar, enveloping captain Devarim and merging him with the altar. When he spoke it was with two voices at once, one his own and the other a more sinister, darker voice. " Sons of Gorgoroth, we have been saved by our new lord and given a new home and purpose. Gone are the old Legions, we shall strike at the hated Imperium united under a new banner. Pledge your fealty to Gorgoroth now and be reborn. Praise Gorgoroth." Seeing his power, most of the Traitors pledged themselves to their new lord. The ones that refused were painfully torn apart by Daemons materializing next to them.

Over the following millennia the Sons of Gorgoroth have plagued the area around the Maelstrom, terrorizing the shipping lanes, attacking planets and destroying the servants of the Emperor wherever possible. Many are taken back to their planet to be sacrificed to Gorgoroth on one of his many altars. The planet itself has been reborn, now a Forgeworld in the service of Chaos with constant supplies being brought in from the raids of the Traitor Chapter.

When Huron Blackheart established his base in the Maelstrom following the Babab war, his forces initially clashed with the Sons of Gorgoroth. Although he had superiority in space, Huron soon realized that he could not take the planet with the Daemon Gorgoroth ruling it. Instead he struck an accord with Sons of Gorgoroth. He would get them the supplies and ships they needed for their needs and they would be his armourers, supplying him with his war machines and weaponry. It is a partnership that has proven fruitful for both parties during the last millennia.

These days Devarim still leads his chapter into war. While most of his merged conscience is concerned with operating the machinery of the planet, he can instill part of his essence into an animated suit of armor, taking to the battlefield as he sees fit. Should the armor be destroyed his essence will simply escape and return to him. Dark apostle Oztalun takes care of Gorgoroth's worship and sacrifices while Heretek Zhaunil is in charge of creating new machinery to better serve the Dark Gods.

With Abaddon launching his thirteenth Crusade, Gorgoroth has spoken of a new mission for his Sons. Soon they will emerge from the Maelstrom and turn the stars red in his name once more.

Important persons
Devarim Rendan, herald of Gorgoroth, Champion of Slaanesh
The leader of the Sons of Gorgoroth. he still takes to the field of battle quite often, using a particular suit of animated armor as the need arises. He is dedicated to all aspects of Chaos, but reveres Slaanesh above all.

Dark Apostle Oztalun
He takes care of the spiritual journey of all new recruits, be the cultists or new Astartes. He can often be seen leading from the front, whipping his closest followers into a religious frenzy.

Heretek Zhaunil
The Heretek takes care of all things machine. Without the restraints of the Machine Cult he has been very productive and has created many an abomination. He takes to the field of battle to see his creations at work.

Sorcerer Errdegahr
He binds the Daemons to the machines and often takes to battle on his bike, summoning more daemons on the way.
Bruticus, champion of Khorne
Has a ranch willed with Chaos Spawn, the best of whom he leads into battle from the back of his Juggernaut Brutus.

Alastrim, champion of Nurgle
Has long since lost any semblance to a human being. Now he is just a mass of writhing tentacles and daemonic faces. He wishes to spread Nurgle's rot to all the worlds.

Shavalyoth of the Thousand Sons
A recent addition to the Sons of Gorgoroth. He was sent by Ahriman to study the technomancy of the Sons' sorcerers and magi. He is accompanied by a squad of warriors from his Legion.

ja het is niet de meest originele naam, maar het klinkt wel gaaf :p en het vertaalt als horror dus dat past wel

Het ding is, tegenwoordig is niets meer origineel. Het gaat ook meestal niet om wie het origineelste is, maar wie dit alles het beste kan presenteren. Thumbs up
