Post by Thunderlions on Sun Feb 08, 2015 5:18 am

Met intussen maar liefst 8 geschilderde Space Wolves leek het me tijd om wat foto's te posten. Prepare yourselves, heretics WAAAGH!

Without further delay:

Wolf Lord Victarion Wyrmslayer:

Thunderwolf Cavalry:

Wolf Guard Pack Leader Balon Bloodfist:

Grey Hunters:

Grey Hunter with Wolf Standard:

The Great Company of Victarion Wyrmslayer

The Saga of Victarion Wyrmslayer began in 699.M41, when Victarion was a young warrior of the Iron Axes. This tribe of vicious warriors preferred the age-old methods of reaping and plundering over farming and fishing, and was feared by lesser tribes all across the Fenrisian seas. Victarion was known as the Iron Captain, commanding his Ironborn from his mighty longship. Although still young, Victarion had already earned much glory and was considered one of the most promising warriors of the tribe. Of course, he did not go unnoticed among the Wolf Priests of the Space Wolves.

One day, during a huge battle around the Isles of Fire, Victarion was mortally wounded by a well-aimed arrow. As his Ironborn carried him from the battle, a huge shape stepped from the shadows. It was Wolf Priest Thurn Deathbringer, who took Victarion and his warriors to the Fang. So did Victarion Wyrmslayer become a Space Wolf.

It was as a Blood Claw that Victarion earned his nickname “Wyrmslayer”. For when his home islands were attacked by mighty firewyrms, the Blood Claw ignored all orders and went back with his Ironborn. The fire-breathing monsters roamed his home city, and hundreds of brave men lay burning as Victarion entered. He raised his axe, roared a battle cry and charged in. Fires leapt up around him, but he did not feel the burns. The wyrms hissed at him, but he merely cursed them and continued hacking. Three hours later Logan Grimnar and his Kingsguard arrived to find the Ironborn still fighting, standing in a shieldwall atop a hill of slain wyrms. The beasts were no match for the Great Wolf himself and were fought off in short order.

Upon their return to the Fang, the Ironborn had their burns seen to and they rejoined their battle-brothers. Their Wolf Lord Asger laughed and promoted them to his Wolf Guard on the spot. Within a year of being recruited, Victarion had made it into the most vaunted position within the Great Company.
Another four years later, Victarion had been promoted to Wolf Guard Battle Leader. He was now second-in-command of the Great Company, which would last for nearly a century of battle, until Asger was mortally wounded in 805.M41. Victarion was unanimously selected by his brothers to become the new Wolf Lord. The Company was renamed “The Ironborn” and Victarion chose as their symbol the mighty Thunderwolf.

In the years after, Victarion became one of Logan Grimnar’s most trusted Wolf Lords. The two warriors often fought alongside each other, joining their Great Companies together to create an unstoppable army.
Victarion Wyrmslayer is known amongst the Space Wolves for being both a brilliant tactician and a powerful warrior, whose skill with blade and axe are envied throughout the Chapter. When he saved the life of the Great Wolf during the War for Draxia, he was rewarded for his service with the legendary Black Death. A powerful enchanted weapon of mysterious origins, this frost axe can pierce any hide or armour. Coupled with Victarion’s skill with an axe, he is now a match for any enemy of the Allfather.

Victarion's favoured method of war is that of the close assault. He himself leads the charge on his Thunderwolf Geri, accompanied by the Thunderwolf Cavalry known as the Stormriders. Vraegi Steelcrafter provides air support from the Stormwolf ‘Frozen Fury’, while Thurn Deathbringer leads an armoured advance of Land Raiders and Rhinos. First blood is usually drawn by Asger the Furious or the hate-fuelled Murderfang, who strike from orbit with the use of Drop Pods. They are followed by Balon’s Bloodfangs and Tormund’s Giantslayers, who employ the same method to get close to the enemy. Rogrim Daemonbane uses his powers of foresight to ensure everyone is in the right place at the right time for optimal devastation, while the enraged Berserkers and Lightning Warriors storm ahead to be the first to kill. And no battle would be complete without the Roar of Russ and the Thunder of Fenris to inspire the Space Wolves and terrify the foe with the fury of their demolisher cannons. The Warmongers charge forth from the Land Raider ‘Firewolf’, even as its brother vehicle ‘Ironwolf’ unleashes a volley of bolter-fire at the enemy.
With a mighty roar that shakes the ground, the Ironborn venerate the Allfather and make the enemy tremble in their hideouts. And so, another battle is won in the name of Russ.

Foto's volgen, als jullie het leuk vinden heb ik nog wel wat meer background en ook wat voor mijn Thunder Lions Smile
